
Mathematics Instructor
Job Description
Gogebic Community College seeks candidates for a .80 FTE faculty position to teach mathematics courses at our Copper Country Center in Houghton, Michigan beginning the Spring
semester of 2024. This position reports to the Vice President of Academic Services. The starting salary for this position at .80 FTE is $42.825.58. We seek a candidate with excellent
interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, someone with the ability to use technology to enhance teaching and learning, and one who is familiar with student outcomes assessment. A
commitment to innovative instructional models including distance learning and hybrid is expected.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide instruction in Mathematics courses including but not limited to developmental through Calculus.
• Select, develop, and revise course material/curriculum as necessary.
• Keep students informed to course requirements, evaluation measures, and attendance policies.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and discussions related to curriculum, teaching-learning techniques, and or teaching materials.
• Conduct and oversee student outcomes assessment.
• Mentor adjunct faculty who teach Mathematic courses.
• Keep students informed regarding course requirements, evaluation measures, and attendance policies.
• Post and maintain regular office hours.
• Work effectively with other faculty and staff in a rapidly changing team environment.
• Participate in community and professional organizations.
Required Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or closely related field from a U.S. Department of Education regionally accredited college or university or A Master’s Degree in
a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Mathematics from a U.S. Department of Education regionally accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience teaching Mathematics, community-college level preferred.
