Full job description

 

Teach MATHEMATICS courses at the freshman and sophomore curriculum levels, in accordance with the
established course outlines of record and consistent with college standards. This includes organizing instruction to
achieve course and program learning outcomes, organizing and conducting learning laboratories, instructing
through lecture and demonstrations. Courses to be instructed during the semester may include BASIC MATH

Advise twelve to fifteen students, approximately 10-15 hours monthly, during the semester. 

Attend monthly faculty meetings and participate in the college faculty senate and the program learning
outcomes team as assigned. 

Participate in the faculty evaluation process, service learning, and student retention initiatives. 

Keep up-to-date on mathematics (including techniques of effective learning), through professional
development opportunities. 

Deliver courses utilizing Learner Management System (Canvas) 

The term of employment is Fall Semester and Spring Semester.

Educational Qualifications: 

A Master’s Degree in Mathematics is preferred, Bachelor’s Degree required. Degrees must
be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US
Department of Education. 

Documented successful college teaching experience in mathematics is required; one year
minimum. This must include computer assisted math instruction. 

Related professional experience in American Indian communities. 

Demonstrated ability to relate to students and staff of varied ethnicity, especially American
Indian students, and a commitment to a culturally diverse educational environment. 

Appreciation and respect for students (including adult students) and their role and
responsibility in the learning process. 

Demonstrated commitment to the philosophy and mission of the tribal community college.

Salary: Depending on Experience.
